Man and woman charged following execution of search warrant- Wiley Park, NSW

A man and woman have been arrested and charged after police executed a search warrant at Wiley Park yesterday, NSW Police say.

About 4.35am on 6 September 2016, two people broke into a business premises on The Boulevard, Lakemba, and stole a number of mobile phones, before leaving the location in a white Nissan Pulsar.

A short time later it is believed the pair broke into two cars parked on Haldon Street, Lakemba, stealing various personal items.

A witness who confronted one of the alleged offenders, was assaulted and police were called to the location.

Following inquiries into the incident, police from Campsie Local Area Command’s Proactive Unit stopped a white Nissan Pulsar on Edna Street, Wiley Park, about 1pm yesterday (Thursdsay 22 September 2016).

They arrested a 41-year-old man and a 43-year-old woman and seized a number of items of interest from within the vehicle.

The man and woman were taken to Campsie Police Station.

A search warrant was subsequently executed on a home Alice Street South, Wiley Park, where they allegedly located and seized a number of items of interest including mobile phones and a substance believed to be cannabis.

The man was charged with a number of offences including aggravated break and enter, larceny, malicious damage, common assault, drive whilst disqualified and goods in custody. He was refused bail and will appear in Burwood Local Court today.

The woman was charged with goods in custody and possess prohibited drug. She was granted conditional bail and will appear in Burwood Local Court on Tuesday 18 October 2016.
