Man and woman face 97 charges for drug-related offences at Mudgee

A man and woman will appear in Mudgee court today charged over the supply of illicit drugs in the state's Central West.

Strike Force Keryn was established by Police from the Target Action Group attached to Orana Mid-Western Police District in October 2018, to investigate the supply of methylamphetamine and other prohibited drugs in the Mudgee township.

Following inquiries, about 1.35pm yesterday (Thursday 4 July 2019), police arrested a man and woman at a caravan park in Mudgee.

Search warrants were executed at a cabin, as well as a room at a local hotel, where police allege they found methylamphetamine ('ice'), cannabis, cash and drug paraphernalia.

Police allege the man, aged 47, was in possession of methylamphetamine at the time of his arrest.

He was charged with supply prohibited drug (x4), supply prohibited drug on an ongoing basis, and possess prohibited drug.

The woman, aged 40, was charged with supply prohibited drug (x72), supply prohibited drug on an ongoing basis (x6), supply indictable quantity of prohibited drug (x4), and possess prohibited drug (x9).

"This is an example of Orana Mid-Western Police taking the fight to drug suppliers, and we will continue to target drug supply, especially insidious drugs in our communities," Orana Mid-Western Crime Manager, Detective Chief Inspector Godden said.

Both were refused bail to appear at Mudgee Local Court today (5 July 2019).
