A wanted man has been charged following a siege in Macquarie Fields on Friday.
About 8.30am Friday (7 July 2023), officers from Campbelltown City Police Area Command attended a home on Catkin Way, Macquarie Fields, following reports of a domestic incident.
When police arrived, police were told a 31-year-old man was on the roof of the premises, following a verbal argument with his partner.
The man remained on the roof, with local and specialist police – including negotiators – establishing a perimeter around the premises.
Negotiations continued throughout the day, and about 7.50pm that evening the man came down from the roof and was arrested by police.
The man was taken to Campbelltown Hospital for observation.
Upon release, the man was taken to Campbelltown police station where he was charged with outstanding warrants.
The man was refused bail and appeared before Parramatta Local Court Saturday (8 July 2023).
