Man arrested after assault in the city, NSW

Police have arrested a man after an indecent assault earlier this week, NSW Police say.

About 1.50pm on Sunday 8 January 2016, a man was in Alfred Park, Surry Hills, when he sat next to a woman sunbaking. The man committed an act of indecency before being confronted by another person resulting in the man leaving the park.


Officers were called to George Street, Sydney about 3pm on Wednesday (18 January 2017), following reports that a man was following a woman.

Police have been told that a man followed a woman, making sexual offensive remarks to her. When the man was confronted by members of the public, he made several threats.

Officers from Sydney City Local Area Command were contacted and commenced an investigation.

On Friday (20 January 2016), a 27-year-old man was arrested at Central Railway Station.

He was taken to Day Street Police Station where he was charged with committing an act of indecency, assault and offensive conduct.

He was refused bail to appear before Parramatta bail court today.
