Man Arrested After Fatal Liverpool Pedestrian Crash

A man has been arrested following a fatal crash in Sydney's south west yesterday.

About 10pm yesterday, Thursday 22 May 2025, emergency services were called to Elizabeth Drive, Liverpool, following reports a pedestrian had been hit by a vehicle.

On arrival, officers attached to Liverpool Police Area Command found a 95-year-old man with critical injuries.

He was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics at the scene, before being taken to Liverpool Hospital where he later died.

The driver – a 36-year-old man – was uninjured.

He was arrested and taken to hospital for mandatory testing before being taken to Liverpool Police station.

A crime scene was established, and investigations commenced by the Crash Investigation Unit into the circumstances of the crash.

A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
