Man arrested after fire at car rental business, SA

A man has been arrested after a fire at a city business overnight, according to SA Police.

Police and fire crews responded to reports of fire coming from a rental car business in Woodsons Lane, Adelaide just after 1.30am on Tuesday 15 August.

When crews arrived they found a fire burning in the rear yard of the business. The fire was quickly extinguished by firefighters.

Meanwhile, residents of an adjacent apartment buildings were evacuated as a precaution.

There were no reports of injuries.

The fire caused damaged to the building structure of the business, but no rental cars were damaged.

A 33-year-old Semaphore Park man was arrested at the scene and charged with serious criminal trespass and arson. He was refused police bail and will appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court today.
