Man Arrested After Home Invasion Shooting

A man has been arrested after shots were fired during home invasion in Western Sydney last night.

Just after 11.40pm (Sunday 8 February 2026), officers attached to Nepean Police Area Command responded to reports of a home invasion on Marsden Street, St Marys.

Police were told a group of men forced entry into the home before discharging a firearm and threatening the occupants.

The men left prior to police arrival, however, whilst responding police located a vehicle travelling on Saddington Street.

A short time later, police located the vehicle crashed into a fence on the same street, where the occupants ran from the vehicle.

During a search of the vehicle police located ammunition.

Following inquiries, officers attended a unit complex where they arrested a 45-year-old man.

He was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics for injuries believed to be due to the crash and taken to hospital under police guard.

The occupants of the Marsden Street home were not injured.

Crime scenes have been established and an investigation in to the circumstances surrounding the incident has commenced.
