Man arrested after vehicle stop in Glebe

A man has been arrested following a vehicle stop in Glebe yesterday afternoon, NSW Police say.

Police have been told about 1pm yesterday (Friday 26 October 2018), a 32-year-old man travelling eastbound on the Anzac Bridge, when it is alleged he became involved in a verbal altercation with a 52-year-old man who was travelling in a Holden Commodore alongside him.

The man threw plastic bottles at the younger man’s vehicle, before producing a knife and threatening the him, while travelling in the vehicle.

He drove away, and the victim contacted officers from Sydney City Police Area Command.

Following inquiries, about 1.15pm yesterday (Friday 26 October 2018), police sighted the Holden Commodore on Bay Street, Glebe.

Police stopped the vehicle at the intersection of Cowper and Wentworth Streets, Glebe, and after officers drew their firearms and taser, a 52-year-old man was arrested.

He was taken to Day Street Police Station where officers are expected to interview the man.

Police are investigating whether both drivers were involved in an incident earlier.
