Man arrested following investigations into two armed robberies, NSW

A man will face court next month after he was arrested in relation to two armed robberies on the state’s Mid North Coast, NSW Police say.

About 8.45pm on Saturday 7 May 2016, a man armed with a machete and small knife entered a supermarket on Bray Street, Coffs Harbour.

He allegedly threatened two female employees before taking money from the cash register and fleeing the location.

The man returned to the location about 8.45pm on Saturday 14 May 2016, and allegedly threatened the two female employees with a machete a second time.

He took money from the cash register and fled the location.

On both occasions the matter was reported to police and a forensic examination of the scene was conducted.

Following investigations, police from Coffs Harbour Local Area Command executed a search warrant at a home in Coffs Harbour on 27 September 2016.

A number of items of interest were located and seized.

yesterday, a 23-year-old man was arrested at a home on Cabarita Avenue, Forster.

He was taken to Forster Police Station where he was charged with two counts of armed robbery and possession of ammunition without holding a licence.

He was granted conditional bail and will next appear in Forbes Local Court on Tuesday 15 November 2016.
