Man arrested following Northern/Hills pursuit, South Australia

A man has been arrested after the stolen car he was driving was tracked by PolAir for over an hour in the Northern suburbs and Hills area.

About 11.30am Monday 19 November police spotted a white Holden Rodeo travelling south on Nelson Road. Checks revealed the car was displaying false registration plates. Patrols attempted to stop the Rodeo however the car took off at speed away from them an a short pursuit ensued.

The pursuit was terminated minutes later due to safety reasons, the car last seen travelling west on Montague. Patrols attempted to cordon the car which was sighted again at various locations throughout Brahma Lodge, Para Hills West and Para Hills, before the Police helicopter PolAir was able to take over tracking the car from the air.

The car traveled through Golden Grove, Greenwith before heading north on One Tree Hill Road toward Gould Creek. The Rodeo turned north onto Falkenburg Road and onto dirt fire tracks in the Little Para Pass area.

Near to Precolumb Road, One Tree Hill the car came to a stop and STAR Group officers swooped on the driver. The 33-year-old Para Vista man was arrested without incident. He is expected to be charged with a number of offences including engage in a police pursuit.
