Man arrested following police pursuit in Lakemba

Police are investigating following a pursuit at Lakemba this morning, NSW Police say.

About 1.37am tomorrow, officers from Campsie Local Area Command sighted a stolen blue Holden Commodore utility on Canterbury Road.

A pursuit was engaged when the Holden failed to stop for police.

Four officers suffered minor cuts and a police car was damaged after the Holden reversed into it in Haldon Lane.

The driver of the Holden, a man in his 30s, was arrested at the scene.

The Holden driver was taken to St George Hospital under police guard for injuries suffered during the pursuit and arrest.

The stolen Holden has been secured for forensic analysis and police are investigating.

Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stoppers.
