Man arrested following woman's death in Bundeena

Police have arrested a man following the death of a woman in Sydney’s south yesterday afternoon, NSW Police say.

About 3.30pm yesterday, emergency services were called to a home on Beachcomber Avenue, Bundeena, where they located the body of a 51-year-old woman.

Upon arrival police also found a 17-year-old male with an injured arm. He was taken to Sutherland Hospital for treatment.

A crime scene was established at the home, which was examined by detectives and forensic specialists.

Officers from Sutherland Local Area Command and the State Crime Command’s Homicide Squad launched an investigation into the incident.

About 5pm today, a 51-year-old man, who police will allege was the woman’s former partner, was arrested on Wallace Street, Braidwood, following a pursuit with police.

It’s believed the pursuit began on the Kings Highway, Braidwood, about 4.40pm after Highway Patrol officers recognised his vehicle.

He has been treated by NSW Ambulance Paramedics for minor facial injuries and will be taken to Queanbeyan Police Station.

Investigations into the matter are continuing.
