Homicide Squad detectives have arrested a man following the discovery of a woman’s body in Cranbourne North this morning, Victoria Police say.
The woman, who is yet to be formally identified, was located at the Maria Court property just after 10.30am following reports of a fire.
Detectives arrested the 38-year-old man at a residential address in Berwick just before 4pm.
All parties who were involved in the incident are believed to be known to each other.
The occupants who lived at the address have been located safe.
Police will await the results of a post mortem regarding exact cause of death.
