Police have arrested a man following reports of erratic driving in the Goulburn Valley area on 5 June.
Officers received multiple calls for a vehicle being driven erratically on the Hume Freeway in Euroa just before 11am.
The stolen Volkswagen wagon was followed along the Hume Freeway and stop sticks were deployed at the Arkells Lane overpass.
The Police Air Wing observed the vehicle continue to the Northern Highway in Bylands where in lost control and crashed into a barrier.
The driver, a 32-year-old Werribee man, was arrested and has been taken to hospital under police guard.
The vehicle is believed to have been stolen in Werribee on 28 May.
He is expected to be interviewed in relation to several related incidents including:
• A motor vehicle theft in Werribee on 28 May
• An unlawful assault in Rockbank on 1 June
• Two thefts in Kensington on 2 June
• Failing to stop for police in Melbourne and Shepparton on 2 June
• Criminal damage in Wangaratta on 5 June
• Theft in Glenrowan on 5 June
• Failing to stop for police in Glenrowan on 5 June
• Unlicensed driving, dangerous driving and conduct endangering life in Wallan on 5 June
