Criminal Groups Squad detectives have arrested a man following an investigation into a public place shooting in Mount Druitt earlier this year.
About 1.15am on Friday 9 May 2025, officers attached to Mount Druitt Police Area Command were called to Frank Street in Mount Druitt following reports of a shooting.
On arrival, officers were told upwards of 30 rounds were fired into a family home by an unknown gunman travelling in a dark-coloured hatchback.
Seven adults and four young children were home at the time, but no one was injured.
Officers established a crime scene and commenced inquiries before the matter was referred to State Crime Command's Criminal Groups Squad under Strike Force Evere.
About 9.30am today (Monday 1 December 2025), strike force detectives – with assistance from Raptor Squad – attempted to stop a vehicle on Caloola Avenue in Cambridge Park.
When the vehicle failed to stop, a short pursuit was initiated; however, terminated a short time later due to safety concerns.
About 10.30am – with assistance from Pol Air, Dog Squad and North West Metropolitan Region – strike force detectives attended an address in Rooty Hill where they located a 30-year-old man.
He was arrested and taken to Mount Druitt Police Station, where he is expected to be charged with offences relating to the alleged shooting in Mount Druitt in May.
Inquiries continue.
