Man arrested on Athol Park roof, SA

A man has been arrested after climbing onto a roof at Athol Park, according to SA Police.

Police spotted a stolen vehicle parked at an Athol Park address just after 8am, however, when they approached the car a man ran from police and jumped a rear fence. Patrols quickly set up cordons and called in Police Dog Roy to assist with a yard to yard search.

The suspect was quickly found on a nearby roof in Hamilton Road. After negotiations, police were able to remove him safely from the roof.

The 37-year-old man from the northern suburbs was arrested and charged with illegal use, assault and property damage. He has been taken to hospital for treatment for minor injuries and will face court at a later date.
