Man assaulted and robbed in Blacktown

Police are investigating after a man was assaulted and robbed in Sydney’s west, NSW Police say.

About 7.30pm today, a 47-year-old man was walking along Hereward Highway, Blacktown, when he was approached by two men.

The two men allegedly hit the 47-year-old man in head, causing him to fall to the ground, before kicking him several times and taking the man’s wallet containing cash, mobile phone and cigarettes.

Both men were last seen heading north along Hereward Highway.

The 47-year-old man attended Blacktown Police Station and reported the incident.

An investigation has commenced and police would like to speak to two men who might be able to assist with inquiries.

Both men are described to police as being of African appearance and aged between 18 and 22. One of the men had dreadlocked hair and the other man had red eyes and a tattoo on his neck.

Inquiries are continuing.

Police are urging anyone with information on the incident to call Crime Stoppers.
