Man assaulted during aggravated burglary at Melton

Melton Crime Investigation Unit detectives are appealing for public assistance as they investigate an aggravated burglary in Melton in July.

Investigators have been told the male occupant of the Chelmsford Way property answered a knock at his door about 7.25pm on 9 July.

The 21-year-old was confronted by three males, one of them armed with a firearm, forcing him back inside his house where he was assaulted by all three males.

All three males then left in a 2004 white VY Commodore with black rims.

The victim suffered severe lacerations to his head requiring staples and bruising to his body.

Investigators have released images and CCTV of three males and a vehicle in the hope someone may recognise them.
