Police are appealing for public information after an aggravated robbery in Strathfield yesterday, NSW Police say.
About 7.45pm today, a 23-year-old man was driving a Subaru Impreza on Long Street, Strathfield, when he was flagged down by an unknown man.
The driver stopped the vehicle and the unknown man got into the car and threatened the 23-year-old man with a firearm, demanding money and his mobile phone.
Another unknown man entered the vehicle and produced a knife.
During the altercation, the 23-year-old man was assaulted and stabbed to his left forearm.
A third unknown man approached the 23-year-old man in the driver’s seat, before pulling him out of the vehicle and assaulting him.
The men fled the scene in the Subaru Impreza and were last seen heading west on Long Street, Strathfield.
The 23-year-old man was taken to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, where it is anticipated he will undergo surgery to a serious laceration to his left forearm.
Officers from Flemington Local Area Command have commenced an investigation into the incident and would like to speak to three men who may be able to assist.
The men are described as being of Mediterranean/Middle Eastern appearance, aged in their 20’s and of medium build.
Police are urging anyone with information to come forward.
