Man assaulted in Glenelg North home, SA

Sturt CIB detectives are investigating a break-in and serious assault at Glenelg North overnight, according to SA Police.

Police were called to a Glenelg North home just before midnight on Saturday 30 September after three men broke in through a rear door. They confronted the occupant, a 30-year-old man, and assaulted him with a wrench found in the victim's home.

The men stole two laptops, a phone and keys before leaving. They were wearing balaclavas with white skeleton emblems on the face.

Police Dog Marley managed to track the suspects to nearby Jervois Street, Glenelg North, but lost the scent.

The victim sustained serious defensive injuries to his hands and was taken to the Royal Adelaide Hospital where he will undergo surgery.

Sturt CIB detectives are investigating and believe drugs were the intended target, however, it appears to be a case of mistaken identity.
