Man bail refused on multiple domestic violence charges at Coonamble

A man has been bail refused after multiple breaches of an Apprehended Domestic Violence Order (ADVO) in the state's central-western plains.

On Monday 9 September 2019, it is alleged the 36-year-old man ran from police as they attempted to arrest him for breaching an ADVO against a woman at Coonamble.

Between Tuesday (24 September 2019) and Thursday (26 September 2019), officers attached to Orana Mid Western Police District conducted substantial inquiries to locate the man following further alleged assaults and intimidation of the woman.

About 1.45pm Thursday (26 September 2019), police arrested the man who was located hiding in the toilet area of a home on Nebea Street at Coonamble.

It is alleged the man armed himself with a piece of glass before police deployed OC spray and arrested the man.

He was taken to Coonamble Police Station where he was charged with stalk/ intimidate intend fear physical harm (x5), contravene prohibition/ restriction in AVO (x4), escape police custody, common assault (x2), enter enclosed lands with prescribed premises without lawful excuse, and outstanding Revocation of Parole warrant.

The man was bail refused at Dubbo Local Court on Friday (27 September 2019) and will reappear at Coonamble Local Court on Tuesday 22 October 2019.
