Yarra Highway Patrol have caught a drink driver speeding on the Eastern Freeway this morning.
Officers were performing laser duties on the freeway when they detected the white Mercedes sedan travelling 190km/h in the 100km/h zone about 12.45am.
The car was intercepted on the Hoddle Street off-ramp of the freeway before the driver returned a positive preliminary breath test.
The 30-year-old man was then given an evidentiary breath test where he furnished a reading of 0.135.
His car was immediately impounded for 30 days.
The driver is expected to be charged on summons with speed dangerous, exceeding the speed limit and drink driving.
