Man caught drink driving six times over the legal limit in Woolloomooloo

A man has been charged after being allegedly six times over the legal alcohol limit at Woolloomooloo yesterday, NSW Police say.

About 7.20pm today, police from Kings Cross Local Area Command were called to Bland Street following reports a damaged BMW was stopped in the middle of the road.

On arrival, they spoke with a 39-year-old man at the scene who allegedly denied he was the driver of the BMW and refused a roadside breath test.

Following information from witnesses and CCTV footage, the man was arrested and taken to Kings Cross Police Station for a breath analysis sample which allegedly returned a positive reading of 0.342.

He was charged with high range drink driving and had his licence suspended.

The man was granted strict conditional bail to appear at Downing Centre Local Court on Tuesday 13 December 2016.
