Detectives from East Gippsland Crime Investigation Unit have charged a man following an investigation into a series of grass fires in the Paynesville and Eagle Point areas beginning in December 2016, Victoria Police say.
Investigators executed a search warrant at a Paynesville address yesterday and arrested a 28-year-old man at the scene.
The Paynesville man has been charged with 12 counts of arson and was bailed to appear at Bairnsdale Magistrates’ Court on 31 October.
