Man Charged After $12K Stolen Goods Seized in Wollongong

A man has been charged after $12,000 worth of allegedly stolen property was seized in Wollongong.

About 7.30pm on Monday 20 July 2026, a 33-year-old man attended Wollongong Police Station where he was arrested.

Officers searched his car parked on Church Street, Wollongong, and seized clothing, tools and Lego.

Officers attended a home in Saville Road, Dapto and seized further clothing and Lego from the home.

The man was charged with five offences; break and enter house etc steal value less than or equal to $60,000, goods in personal custody suspected being stolen (not motor vehicle), shoplifting value less than or equal to $2000, goods in personal custody suspected being stolen (not motor vehicle) and goods suspected stolen in/on premises (not motor vehicle).

He was refused bail to appear in Bail Division Court 3 yesterday ( Tuesday 21 July 2026), where he was formally refused bail to appear in Wollongong Local Court on Tuesday 28 July 2026.

Police will allege in court the man broke into a business on the Princes Highway, Fairy Meadow about 12.20am on Saturday 13 June 2026, stealing workwear. Police will also allege the man stole clothing and accessories from stores at Bankstown and Wollongong. The estimated value of the items allegedly stolen totalled $12,000.
