A man has been charged after police seized approximately $3.1m worth of cannabis in Sydney's south west yesterday.
Strike Force Grassy was established by officers attached to the Central Metropolitan Region Enforcement Squad – South to target offenders involved in the cultivation and supply of cannabis.
As a part of the ongoing investigation, in January 2026, Detectives commenced inquiries into the alleged cultivation of cannabis in Yennora area.
Following inquiries, about 7.10pm yesterday (Thursday 12 March 2026), strike force detectives, with the assistance from the South West Metropolitan Region Operations Support Group and Dog Squad, arrested a 40-year-old man at a factory on Antill Street, Yennora.
Police also allegedly located and seized a hydroponic set up, along with 994 cannabis plants with an estimated street value at $3.1m.
The man was taken to Cabramatta Police Station where he was charged with cultivate prohibited plant more than or equal to large commercial quantity – cannabis and divert/use electricity for generating etc system without authority.
He was refused bail to appear at Fairfield Local Court today (Friday 13 March 2026).
