Man charged after aggravated break and enters, NSW

A man will appear in court today in relation to two alleged break and enters at Lake Macquarie last night, NSW Police say.

About 11pm yesterday, a man, armed with a knife, allegedly forced his way into a home on Boree Avenue, Windale.

Once inside, the man assaulted the occupant, a 45-year-old man.

The man damaged a television before threatening the occupant, demanding he be driven to a nearby address.

About 11.30pm yesterday, a man, armed with a knife, allegedly forced his way into a home on Willandra Crescent, Windale.

The occupant, a 49-year-old man was assaulted.

Officers from Lake Macquarie Local Area Command were notified and attended.

A 29-year-old man was arrested at the home and taken to Belmont Police Station.

He was charged with two counts of aggravated break and enter and commit serious indictable offence-armed, take/detain person with intent to obtain advantage occasion actual bodily harm, and destroy or damage property.

The man was refused bail to appear at Newcastle Local Court today.
