Man Charged After Armed Robberies in Melbourne NW

Wyndham Crime Investigation Unit detectives have arrested a man following three armed robberies in Truganina and Tarneit earlier this week.

Police will allege the man, in possession of a machete, attended three service stations on Paraweena Drive, Leaks Road and Wool Street between 4.50am and 5.50am on 11 June.

Officers were told the man stole an amount of cigarettes and cash from each location, before fleeing the scene in a white sedan.

This afternoon, detectives executed two search warrants in the Tarneit area.

A 21-year-old man was arrested and has since been charged with 3 x armed robbery.

He will appear before Melbourne Magistrates' Court tonight.
