A man has been charged following an alleged armed robbery in the Illawarra late last year.
About 1pm on Tuesday 4 November 2025, officers attached to Lake Illawarra Police District were called to Staff Road, Unanderra, about 6.5km south-east of Wollongong, following reports of a robbery.
Officers were told two men allegedly pushed a 65-year-old man to the ground, before threatening him at knifepoint in his garage and stealing jewellery, cash, and credit cards.
The two men fled the scene, running south on Staff Road.
A crime scene was established, and police commenced an investigation under Strike Force Garberta.
Following inquiries, about 1.50pm today (Tuesday 19 May 2026), police arrested a 41-year-old man at a home on Coolabah Street, in Dapto.
He was taken to Lake Illawarra Police Station and charged with robbery while armed with dangerous weapon and aggravated break and enter commit serious indictable offence- in company – steal.
He was refused bail to appear before Bail Division Court 3 tomorrow (Wednesday 20 May 2026).
