A man has been charged over the alleged assault of a police officer and several other people in Sydney's CBD.
About 4.40pm yesterday (Thursday 14 August 2025), police were called to the Suburban Concourse of Central Railway Station, following reports a man had allegedly assaulted two men.
Police were told a 41-year-old man approached a 45-year-old man and allegedly punched him in the face, causing his nose to bleed and to fall to the floor.
The man has approached two men and allegedly struck them both in the head as he made his way along the concourse.
The man continued towards a fourth 20-year-old man and allegedly attempted to grab his bag from his shoulder. As the men continued to struggle over the bag, police from Sydney City Police Area Command attended and arrested the man.
He was taken to Surry Hills Police Station where he was charged with:
- Hinder or resist police officer in the execution of duty
- Affray
- Assault police officer in execution of duty without actual bodily harm
- Assault occasioning actual bodily harm
Common assault
Whilst in police custody, the man allegedly assaulted a male Constable by pushing him in the chest.
The man was refused bail and will appear via video link in Bail Division Court 7 today (Friday 15 August 2025).
