Man charged after car crashes into Ascot Park home, SA

A man has been arrested after he crashed his car into an Ascot Park home early this morning, according to SA Police.

Sturt patrols initially spotted a black Nissan station wagon on Railway Terrace at Edwardstown about 1.15am on Monday 20 March with checks on the registration revealing it was unregistered and defected.

The car had taken off before the patrol could attempt to stop it and was lost sight of in back streets.

As police searched the area, they located the car abandoned on the corner of Seventh Avenue and Allison Street after it collided with a fence and hit the back of a home

Cordons were set up and the alleged driver was located hiding in a nearby property where he was arrested. A woman who was a passenger of the car was also located but was not charged with any offences.

A 38-year-old man of no fixed address was charged with a number of traffic offences including driving in a manner dangerous, aggravated due care, driving disqualified and breach of bail. He did not apply for bail and will appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court today.
