Man charged after driving almost seven times over the legal limit in Rosehill

A man has been charged with numerous offences after leaving the scene of a crash in Sydney’s west, NSW Police say.

About 8.15am on Monday 22 May 2017, a 34-year-old man struck a customer parking sign while attempting to park his vehicle at a restaurant in Rosehill.

The man then attempted to drive from the car park, however hit a stationary blue utility which was unattended.

Police from Rosehill Highway Patrol stopped the driver on James Ruse Drive, Rosehill. The man was subjected a roadside breath test which returned a positive result of 0.461.

At the time, the man’s location was in breach of his bail conditions and inquiries revealed he had also breached his bail conditions on the previous evening by approaching the same Rosehill address.

The man was arrested and taken to Parramatta Police Station where he underwent a breath analysis and returned a reading of 0.347.

He was charged with drive with high range PCA, negligent driving, not give particulars to owner of damaged property, not give particulars to other driver, and two counts of breach of bail.

His driver’s licence was also suspended.

The man appeared at Parramatta Local Court on Tuesday 23 May 2017 and was refused bail to reappear at the same court on Tuesday 6 June 2017.
