Man charged after drugs and cash found in hotel room, NSW

A man has been charged after police allegedly located drugs and cash in a hotel room at Port Macquarie earlier today, NSW Police say.

About 11.20am today, officers from Mid North Coast Local Area Command were called to the hotel on Hay Street, after staff allegedly located items believed to be drugs in a hotel room.

Officers attended and allegedly found drugs believed to be ice, cannabis and ecstasy, as well as more than $18,000 cash.

The items were seized and will undergo forensic examination.

A short time later, officers arrested a 42-year-old Victorian man in the hotel.

He was taken to Port Macquarie Police Station, where he was charged with supply prohibited drug, possess prohibited drug (x4), and goods in custody.

The man has been refused bail and is due to appear at Port Macquarie Local Court tomorrow.
