Man charged after drugs and firearm located in Liverpool

A man has been arrested and charged following a vehicle stop in Sydney’s southwest, NSW Police say.

About 10pm yesterday (Saturday 20 January 2018), officers attached to Macquarie Fields Local Area Command stopped a vehicle on the Hume Highway at Liverpool.

Police spoke to the driver and during a subsequent search of the vehicle officers allegedly located methylamphetamine.

The male driver was arrested and taken to Liverpool Police Station.

Officers subsequently executed a search warrant at a home on Lachlan Street, Liverpool, where they allegedly located methylamphetamine and other drugs, a stolen motor vehicle and a .22 calibre rifle along with other items of interest.

The 23-year-old male driver was subsequently charged with supply prohibited drug.

He was refused bail and will appear in Parramatta Local Court today (21 January 2018).
