Man Charged After DV, Police Assault in Gulargambone

A man has been charged over alleged domestic violence and assault police offences in the state's central western plains region.

Officers attached to Orana Mid Western Police District were called to a home on Munnell Street, Gulargambone, about 3.45am Sunday 28 June 2026 following reports of an assault.

Police arrived and were told a 39-year-old man had allegedly assaulted another man – who is known to him.

Police arrested the 39-year-old man, during which he allegedly struck an officer in the face.

The officer was taken to Dubbo Hospital for further examination, and was later discharged.

The 39-year-old man was taken to Dubbo Police Station where he was charged with assault police officer in execution of duty cause actual bodily harm, common assault (DV) and knowingly contravene prohibition/etc in AVO (Domestic).

He was refused bail and faced Bail Division Court 4 on Sunday 28 June 2026, where he was formally refused bail to reappear before Coonamble Local Court on Wednesday 15 July 2026.
