A man will face court today charged following an investigation into sexual offences alleged to have occurred in the Newcastle area.
In March 2025, detectives attached to Newcastle City Police District established Strike Force Agnes following a report of an alleged indecent assault.
Extensive inquiries allegedly revealed that several incidents of a sexual nature involving the same man occurred between 2005 and 2022.
About 7.20am today (Tuesday 9 December 2025), strike force detectives executed a search warrant at a home on Bruce Street, The Junction.
During the search, police allegedly located and seized several electronic devices.
A 53-year-old man was arrested and taken to Newcastle Police Station.
He was charged with six offences,
- Two counts of assault with act of indecency
- Sexual intercourse without consent
- Stalk/intimidate intend fear physical etc harm
- Sexually touch another person without consent, and
- Carry out sexual act with another without consent.
He was refused bail to appear before Bail Division Court 2 today (Tuesday 9 December 2025).
