Man charged after pointing replica firearm at motorists in Lansdowne

Police have charged a man after he allegedly pointed a replica pistol at passing motorists in Lansdowne yesterday, NSW Police say.

About 4.45pm today, police responded to calls that the driver of a white van, heading westbound on the Hume Highway, was waving a firearm out the window.

Officers from Liverpool Highway Patrol located the vehicle and pulled it over near Governor Macquarie Drive.

The 31-year-old driver was arrested.

Police located a replica pistol not far from where the vehicle was stopped.


The driver was taken to Liverpool Police Station where he was charged with possess prohibited firearm.

He was given conditional bail and will appear in Liverpool Local Court on Wednesday 15 November 2017.
