A man will face court in September after a police pursuit in the Illawarra this afternoon today, NSW Police say.
About 4.25pm today, a Holden Commodore sedan came to police notice when it was detected allegedly travelling above the speed limit in Keira Street, Tarrawanna.
Police from Traffic and Highway Patrol Command signalled for the driver to stop.
When the vehicle did not stop, a pursuit began which ended a short time later in nearby Caldwell Avenue when the Commodore struck a telegraph pole.
The driver and sole occupant of the car, a 25-year-old Thirroul man, was not injured.
He was issued a Court Attendance Notice for negligent driving and driving in a manner dangerous.
His licence was confiscated on the spot and the Commodore towed from the scene.
He will appear in Wollongong Local Court on 6 September 2016.
