A man has been charged after an alleged pursuit and police vehicles rammed in southwestern Sydney last night.
Yesterday (Thursday 5 March 2026), officers attached to Campbelltown City Police Area Command commenced an investigation after reports a white Ford Falcon utility was allegedly stolen from a home in Macquarie Fields.
About 10.50pm, patrolling police located and attempted to stop the ute travelling on Bradbury Avenue, at Campbelltown.
When the vehicle allegedly failed to stop, a pursuit was initiated.
A short time later on Shakespeare Street, the vehicle allegedly rammed a police vehicle then drove at an officer, who moved out of the way.
The ute then hit a fence before ramming a second police vehicle.
The vehicle came to a stop and the alleged driver, a 28-year-old man was arrested.
Inquiries revealed the man's drivers licence was allegedly disqualified until 2028 and during a search of the man, officers allegedly located and seized an amount of cannabis.
He was taken to Campbelltown Police Station, where he was charged with take & drive conveyance without consent of owner, police pursuit - not stop - drive dangerously, use offensive weapon to prevent lawful detention etc, negligent driving (no death or grievous bodily harm), drive motor vehicle during disqualification period, and possess prohibited drug.
He was refused bail to appear before Campbelltown Local Court later today (Friday 6 March 2026).
