Man charged after replica firearm seized in Liverpool

Police have arrested and charged a man who was seen allegedly carrying a firearm at a leisure centre in Liverpool, NSW Police say.

Police were called to the centre on Memorial Avenue about 6pm yesterday (Friday 8 December 2017), after reports of a man walking inside the centre with a firearm in his pants.

Officers from Liverpool Local Area Command attended and conducted a search of the centre before locating the man in the car park.

A replica firearm was seized from the man’s car.

The 44-year-old man was taken to Liverpool Police Station where he was charged with armed with intent, possess unauthorised firearm and possess prohibited weapon.

He was granted bail to appear at Liverpool Local Court on Wednesday 13 December 2017.
