Man charged after search warrant executed in Greystanes

Police have charged a man with alleged prohibited weapon and drug offences after a search warrant was executed in Sydney’s west yesterday.

About 2.30pm today, officers from Holroyd Local Area Command, assisted by the NSW Police Dog Unit, attended a unit on Cumberland Road, Greystanes, to execute a search warrant.

During the search, police located and seized, NSW Police say:

- A cross bow

- A butterfly knife

- Two tasers

- Two laser pointers

- Cannabis

- Methylamphetamine

- Ice pipes, glass and improvised bongs

- Resealable bags

- Scales

- Cash

- Australian military service medals

- And ammunition

All items will undergo forensic examination.

A 51-year-old man was arrested at the unit and taken to Merrylands Police Station.

He has been charged with supply prohibited drug, possess ammunition without holding a licence, deal with property proceeds of crime, four counts of possess or use a prohibited weapon without permit, two counts of possess prescribed restricted substance and good suspected stolen in/on premises.

The man was refused bail to appear at Fairfield Local Court tomorrow.

Inquiries are ongoing and further charges are expected.
