Man charged after search warrant executed in Penrith

A man has been charged following the execution of a search warrant in Penrith yesterday, NSW Police say.

About 3.45pm today, police from the North West Metropolitan OSG and Penrith Local Area Command searched a home in Lemongrove Road, Penrith.

Officers allegedly located and seized:

- Cash

- Methylamphetamine

- Cannabis

- A corn snake

- A homemade hand gun

- A homemade sling shot

- And firearm ammunition.

All items will undergo forensic examination.

A 29-year-old man was arrested at the home and taken to Penrith Police Station.

He was later charged with two counts of possess prohibited drug, supply prohibited drug, possess ammunition without holding a licence and possess protected fauna.

He was granted conditional bail and will appear at Penrith Local Court on 15 September 2016.

The corn snake is currently under the care of WIRES.
