Man charged after search warrant executed in Richmond

Police have charged a man after a search warrant was executed in Sydney’s west this morning, NSW Police say.

About 7.20am today, officers from Hawkesbury Local Area Command attended a home on March Street, Richmond, to execute a search warrant.

During the search, police located and seized items believed to be prohibited drugs, a number of items including electronics and a glass beaker with a liquid.

Officers from Fire & Rescue NSW HAZMAT unit were called to examine the item and it was seized for further forensic examination.

A 23-year-old man was arrested at the home on an unrelated outstanding warrant for failing to appear on a break and enter charge.

He was taken to Windsor Police Station and charged by virtue of the outstanding warrant.

The man was refused bail to appear at Penrith Local Court today.

Inquiries are ongoing and further charges are expected.

Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stoppers.
