Man charged after search warrant executed in Wentworthville

A man has been charged following the execution of a search warrant in Wentworthville, NSW Police say.

On Wednesday 14 September 2016, officers from Rosehill Local Area Command stopped and searched a motor vehicle in Jordan Street, Westmead.

Police allegedly located prohibited drugs, prescribed medication and seized a mobile phone.

Following further inquiries, police executed a search warrant at an address in Page Street, Wentworthville, on Wednesday 21 September 2016.

During the search police seized a black plastic replica firearm and items of clothing. An industrial cleaning machine which was reported as stolen was located on the premises.

A 29-year-old man was later charged with possession of an unauthorised pistol and not keep firearm safely.

He was granted bail and will appear in Parramatta Local Court on Tuesday 11 October 2016.

Investigations are continuing.
