Man charged after search warrant executed, NSW

Police have charged a man with drug and firearm offences following a search warrant in the state’s Mid North Coast last week, NSW Police say.

About 11am on Friday 23 September 2016, officers attached to Mid North Coast Local Area Command attended a home on Redhill Road, Telegraph Point, and executed a search warrant.

During the search, police allege they located methylamphetamine, 22 cannabis plants, cannabis, ammunition, two firearms, one with a silencer attached, and cash. All items were seized for forensic examination.

Following the search warrant, police arrested a 41-year-old man and took him to Port Macquarie Police Station.

He was charged with two counts of cultivate prohibited plant, supply prohibited drug, two counts of possess prohibited drug, possess unauthorised prohibited firearm, possess unauthorised firearm, not keep firearm safely, possess ammunition without holding licence and two counts of deal with property proceeds of crime.

The man was refused bail to appear at Port Macquarie Local Court on Wednesday 28 September 2016.
