An academic from the University of Southampton has spoken of her delight after being awarded a top higher education accolade.
Professor Amanda Bragg-Mollison has been named a National Teaching Fellow by Advance HE for her services to teaching and learning.
Before moving into academia, Prof Bragg-Mollison built an international career in the luxury sector, working with global hospitality brands and retailers.
She is now programme lead for the BA (Hons) Luxury Brand Management degree at the University of Southampton.
Prof Bragg-Mollison was given the accolade for her work to shape the future of teaching and learning, calling it an "incredible honour and a privilege".
She added: "Throughout my career I have been passionate about creating educational experiences that connect academic excellence with authentic industry practice.
"This ensures students are equipped not only with knowledge but with the confidence, creativity and critical thinking needed to thrive in a rapidly changing world."
Having recently completed a four-year term as Deputy Head of School (Education and Student Experience) at the University, Prof Bragg-Mollison now leads WSA Exchange, the enterprise and knowledge exchange unit at the Winchester School of Art.
National teaching fellowships are one of the UK's highest academic accolades and are given to educators who demonstrate sustained excellence and outstanding contributions to enhance student learning experience.
Prof Bragg-Mollison , one of 55 recipients of the award this year, said that receiving the fellowship is a recognition that reflects the power of collaboration.
She added: "I have been fortunate to work alongside exceptional colleagues at the University of Southampton and with external partners across the creative industries, whose commitment to innovation in education continually inspires me.
"Together we have sought to create learning experiences that are inclusive, evidence-informed and deeply connected to the opportunities and challenges students encounter beyond university.
"I hope this fellowship highlights the value of education-focused academic leadership and the transformative impact that outstanding teaching, partnership and student-centred practice can have on individuals, institutions and the sector."
Prof Bragg-Mollison and the other fellows will be formally recognised at a ceremony in Edinburgh next month.
