Man charged after stabbing, NSW

A man will appear in court following an alleged stabbing in the Hunter region yesterday, NSW Police say.

About 11pm (Thursday 29 November 2018), emergency services were called to a unit on Grey Street, Clarence Town after reports a man had been stabbed.

On arrival officers from Port Stephens-Hunter Police District found a 22-year-old man suffering stab wounds to his hands, hip and leg.

The 22-year-old Clarence Town man was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedic before he was taken to John Hunter Hospital in a serious but stable condition.

Following inquiries, a 32-year-old Clarence Town man was arrested nearby.

He was taken to Raymond Terrace Police Station where he was charged with wound person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, assault occasioning actual bodily harm (x2), destroy or damage property less than $2000, and other charges related to a previous outstanding warrant.

He was refused bail and will appear at Raymond Terrace Local Court today (Friday 30 November 2018).
