Man charged after Sydney CBD assault, NSW

A man has been charged after another man was allegedly assaulted in Sydney CBD overnight, NSW Police say.

Police have been told about 3.20am (Sunday 12 August 2018), two men – aged 31 and 24 – were involved in an argument, before the younger man allegedly punched the other man.

Witnesses contacted emergency services and the injured man was taken to St Vincent’s Hospital with head injuries.

The other man reportedly left the scene in a taxi.

Officers from Sydney City Police Area Command launched an investigation.

Just after 1pm today, a 24-year-old South Australian man was arrested and taken to Mascot Police Station.

He was charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm and affray and refused bail to appear at Central Local Court tomorrow (Monday 13 August 2018).
