Man Charged After Unresponsive Person Found in Pascoe Vale

Broadmeadows Family Violence Investigation Unit detectives charged a man after another man was located unresponsive in Pascoe Vale on Tuesday night.

Officers attended a residential property on Heathcote Street and found a 63-year-old man unconscious on 29 September about 7.45pm.

The man was treated at the scene but died shortly after.

Another man, a 34-year-old from Pascoe Vale, was arrested nearby.

He has since been charged with non-fatal strangulation, recklessly cause injury, possess methylamphetamine and commit indictable offence whilst on bail.

He faced Melbourne Magistrates' Court on 1 October where he was further remanded to appear on 16 October.

Detectives will prepare a report for the coroner in relation to the circumstances surrounding the death.

It is alleged the parties are known to each other.
