Casey Crime Investigation Unit detectives have charged a man in relation to the theft of a motor vehicle which was allegedly used in a firearms incident in Narre Warren last month.
Investigators have been told a man was driving a white Audi sedan, north along Narre Warren-Cranbourne Road near Norfolk Drive on 21 February, when his vehicle was shot at about 5pm.
It is believed the shot came from a white 2008 Toyota Hilux utility driving north.
The Audi sustained damage but fortunately the man was uninjured and drove to a nearby police station to report the incident.
Police executed a warrant at a property on Harry Street in Cranbourne on 14 March, where a 38-year-old man was arrested in relation to a theft of a motor vehicle which occurred in Cranbourne South on 17 February.
The Cranbourne man has been charged with theft of motor vehicle, prohibited person possessing a firearm, possess drug of dependence, commit indictable offence whilst on bail, and unlicensed driving.
He was remanded in custody to face court at a later date.
The charges do not relate to the road rage incident in Narre Warren on 21 February, however police believe the allegedly stolen Toyota Hilux was used in this incident.
